I have been meaning to blog, but I have been redecorating our home, having a in ground pool installed and looking for colleges with my son and of course shooting weddings! I totally started crying when it hit me that he has really grown up and is heading to college... I am happy for him but really sad too...
If it wasn't for my kids keeping me grounded- I would totally be traveling the world right now and taking photos where ever I go.

Our world changed again recently (one of the reasons I haven't blogged..my nephew got diagnosed with Leukemia and we are in shock. My brothers son Daniel is 9 and it happened over night. He will be in Children's Mercy hospital for 6 months.... I pray the chemo works!
I will be posting weddings the rest of the week before I head to Arizona, then to shoot a wedding in Mexico and hopping over to CA- all with my family.

Mothers Day has just come to an end...and it is one of my favorite days for sure! :)
I truly believe that being a Mom Is the most important job there is ( at least for me )

My kids were sooo sweet to me, Brooke sent me flowers (cause she was at the Mall of America) shopping with friends this weekend. Joey brought me a bouquet of flowers with a beautiful card at 6:30 am and my husband started the day off with breakfast in bed and closed the day with diamonds- geez I feel really blessed.
Hope everyone had a blessed Mothers Day..I don't think there is anything more precious than family.
I will be posting more weddings this week...we are remolding a bit and it has been very crazy!

Hey everyone,
It has been nothing but travel the last few weeks...Hubby and I were in Scottsdale AZ for 8 days looking at investment property and chilling with our friends. I feel like I have a second family there, so it is very easy to stay.
We left for KC on Wed night and picked up the kids and headed for Mexico at 6am on Thursday morning...and here we are nestled between Cancun and Playa.
We are staying at AZUL in the presidental area...and all I can say is WOW!!!
This is a LUXURY family resort that everyone should experience! The beds by the pool and beach are so comforatable and the guest all seem to be from Canada and Austraila- I have not ran into any one from the US yet..
Yesterday we left at 7am and we went to Chichen-Itza....One of the new Seven Wonders of the World- we walked all day and returned at 8 pm. Not only is Chichen-Itza among the best known ruins in Mexico, but this ancient Mayan city ranks amoung the most celebrated ruins in the entire western hemisphere-
We also went to Playa de Carmen to shop and wow we had sooooo much fun as a family...Brooke my daughter got a some free cool T-shirts cuz the shop guy thought she was beautiful...Joey my son was checking out all the chicks and flirting with them....it was so much fun to hang with my kids... and Joey is all wit & humor...geez he has me rollin in laughter I swear almost every day.

This happens to be a topless kind of beach and I did not know that when I booked...so I found out when Joey started running on the beach 4 times a day-I am like Your going for A RUN AGAIN DUDE? Then he says with a huge smile....there are some girls my age topless at the end of our beach...

ANYHOW I WILL BE BACK LATE THURSDAY NIGHT AND ON SUNDAY I WILL BE POSTING SOME FABULOUS WEDDINGS OF 2010 FOR YOU TO SEE ...

I love photographing and I adore weddings...but I really want to spend more time with my family..traveling and showing Joey & Brooke some sweet places in the US.
Eddie and I are going to be celebrating 20 years together at the beginning of Nov...that is very rare today.
I am very thankful for my family and I thank God for the talent he has given me. :)

Teri, I know you are super swamped right now. Well, we shot a wedding at The Elms tonight and it was so much fun, now Eddie and I are packing to go to Mexico and we leave in a few hours! Allot of guest are going to this wedding and it is going to be a blast!!!
Also this week is Sammy Hagar's Birthday(the red rocker) and we plan on going to his bar after the reception to PARTY there!! He is suppose to have a HUGE BIRTHDAY PARTY TOO!
How fun- can't wait to share those photos too!

I have to admit I have NOT stayed up on my blog- so I will be posting weddings and pics from May...ouch! Eddie and Logan have been shooting like mad dogs - I really admire their work too!
But I swear- we always seem to get the most beautiful brides and good looking grooms!
What a great year and what Great people here in KANSAS CITY..

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer...I can't believe July is almost over.
Eddie promised me a sports car in the next 6 months, so I really want to go drive everything to see what feels smooth-FAST and it Has to be a convertable..
hopefully things will slow down abit and I can test drive some fast cars soon!
I want to get something I can use in my photoshoots too.

We went to AZ over the 4th and chilled..chilled chilled with 2 other families. I really needed it.
I did not pick up my camera for almost 5 days (wow...that is a record for me!)
But I did the last couple of days and got some fun family water basketball shots.
Joey (our son) was really fun to hang out with and he now wants to go to ASU.

Eddie ACTUALLY spoke at ASU while we were out in AZ (very cool)

I think I could play water basketball all day long...Eddie and I played for hours almost everyday.

I just booked 2 weddings this week for the end of 2010 and we have 1 wedding on the calendar for 2011.

Wow...this month has flown by! It has been very busy and I intended to post current weddings before now- but just keep running out of time. :)

The beginning of the month I had a birthday and it was so sweet- I woke up to about 35 texts wishing me Happy Birthday. That was very cool. Hubby got me a 2 ct diamond necklace and earrings to match. Love them, you just can't go wrong with diamonds!!

A BIG thank you to Trim (this girl is so sweet) she brought me over a silpada necklace and earrings for my birthday! Not only is she a beautiful bride I am blessed to call her my friend.

The rest of the month is a blur, shooting almost every day editing and hanging out with the kids.

We have had some amazing Brides the last few months..I am really excited to share these photos

with everyone!!!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Digital Odeon and a big THANK YOU!
Yesterday- the guys from Digital Odeon came by and brought me the coolest handmade blanket from Turkey! WOW it is so cool-thanks guys :)

We got together for lunch and they took me to Longhorn for a big steak (my favorite)
These guys are so amazing at video films...and what a blessing they are to Kansas City!

It was a long day of shooting and Skye and Jennifer's last night at the Resort and so we went up to their room with Tram and we did sexy bedroom shots ...boudoir.

We shot all over that resort bedroom ..we had a blast. While we were shooting Brook, Brooke and Brandon went to grab dinner for all of us and we ended up having a feast.

I made some great life long friendships in the Bahamas!!!

I was blessed to hand pick my team for the recent Bahama's Magazine shoot (including models with magazine approval) and I totally had to have Brook...she could create every hair style imaginable to the mind and I was impressed. Thank you Brook for all your hard work (and work we did!)

Above on the right is a photo of Tram ( I love her and this image) This is soft, sexy hair! Tram is getting married this year to Peter and I am doing the wedding :) Tram is so sweet too..I love these girls and they are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside!

I Just want to say that The Old Bahama Bay is AMAZING!!! You have to go there! I did not want to leave..
I was blessed to combine 2 assignments at once this April- I was on a Wedding magazine assignment for Ines Del Mar Magazine and shooting for The Old Bahama Bay Resort...to make this a more amazing trip "get married" flew down to film me shooting!!!
That will be shown on Lifetime in the fall, on Get Married with Colin Cowe.

What was really special to me is that my daughter Brooke was picked out of a pool of models for this magazine! They did not know that she was my daughter when they picked her and she ROCKED at this. All these years I have waited to photograph her in a wedding dress ..we had so much fun! We took 4 other models that were just as beautiful..I will be posting their photos later... can you believe she is only 15? Hey everybody I just wanted to share my daughter Brooke on page 346 of the PWGBook.

I was shooting on top of club 1000 (one of my favs to shoot at) and I was doing photos for an ad and I took Brooke with me(her first time in a wedding dress) she is 14 and I turned and snapped this shot of her...wow she just is so pretty. Then the other shot I took on floor 3 of club 1000 and wow this is a great shot!

She has been modeling since she was 2 for Hallmark, TV,Libby Lous and has been in 1 movie.

This child has over 40 commercials under her belt..

I haven't had much sleep the last 5 days and it never felt sooo good!
Friday I shot photos at the Marriott Hotel in overland Park and it was so fun.
Sat I had a BEAUTIFUL wedding at the Hawthorne House and Heather and Bryan are a WONDERFUL couple! I can't say enough great things about this couple.
Heather's Mom called me on Monday and thanked me for doing a fabulous job...that was sweet!

Sunday was the PWG SHOW & was really good. I saw so many beautiful brides on Sunday too!!
FIVE of the most beautiful ones booked with me :)
Needless to say I was alittle tired on Sunday Night!

Holly Star ( she is on 38 the spot) came over Sunday nite to drop off the cutest puppies I am watching for her :) while she is in Dallas. I will post some photos later so I have 4 doggies in the house right now and they are all so darn cute!

Okay the new PWG book came out and I have some pics of fabulous brides in the back fold out...so check them out!

I have girls coming in all day on Thursday and they sound so fun. 2009 is going to be the BEST year!

I did receive a GREAT video from Village Video Productions Of Ashley and Dave's Wedding and they are on wedding gallery one...it was a FANTASTIC wedding and it is a FANTASTIC video Great job Bill and thank you for the video!!

What a wonderful day...I did alittle shooting and got home early to my wonderful family :)
Hubby got me 4 dozen roses..made dinner and it has been a sweet day. Terrie ( a wonderful friend of mine came over for dinner and hung out with us...she actually has been my kids talent agent for over 12 years...some of the Cosby kids were her clients too)

I hope EVERYONE has had a great day and enjoyed the ones you love. I totally dig curling up on the couch by the fire and drinking hot chocolate while reading a great book...in the Midwest we just have to make the best of this cold weather and come up with a lot of fun things to do to keep from being bored...
Speaking of fun Mandee and Jason came over Friday night and I took some amazing photos of them and the baby on the way! You will recognize this couple they are the ONLY Wedding couple that KC has ever seen in the arrowhead stadium...doing my fun run shot!!

I just got back from a road trip to OK...and it is so so so good to be home!
I planned on traveling home the other night when tornadoes were all over the place including my route home. The hubby calls and says...DON"T drive and the front desk tells me stay put ...the storms are bad , only in the Midwest right? Tornadoes in February!
Any how I really am glad to be back to KC...I don't think I will go back to OK...it is just NOT for me....

Hey Kansas City..

I just want to say to all the photographers from this city that have been calling me to ask me if they can shoot for me, work for me, pick my brain or get to know me...and just last week I had 2 photographers from this city call me to ask if they could second shoot for me and THEY HAVE THERE OWN STUDIOS-

Well today I came into the office and another photographer called wanting to talk to me so I thought..I need to blog.

To everyone interested in shooting with me I do have Shadowing program and it is FOUR thousand dollars and I currently have a shadowier. I will only take 5 shadowiers a year.

Half is due upon booking to ensure your slot.

I have 3 openings left for 2009..so if you are one of the photographers that have been calling me (u know who u are) please call Jenn to set an appointment up for me to explain the shadowing program to you.

I would encourage everyone to shoot from the heart...that is what I have always done.

Don't copy other photographers images..you should be developing your own style of shooting.

I wish everybody the very best and I totally love what I do..I live and breathe my art..I always have a camera on me and I am always thinking of images-

When I am booked solid I tend to send my Bride and grooms to the select few photographers in town that I consider my friends and I know they do a great job :)

Okay everyone I have to tell you about a beautiful girl that came in to my studio on the 19th of this month (I had just gotten over the flu and had been really sick for almost a week and that whole week was spent in bed) so I was just happy to be feeling great and in walks Tram...she has long, shinny perfect black hair (I totally love long hair) and this perfect sweet smile..she loved my work and I was already thinking of shots I wanted to do of her while I was talking to her ( I tend to to do that)
Anyhow she is going to be a awesome Bride...beautiful inside and out :)
Well I opened up the mail- I am alittle behind on that :)- and she sends me a gift certificate for a COUPLES Massage!!!! Plus a sweet Thank you card...

I have photographed so many weddings over the last 10 years and what I love about weddings ...there is NO 2 weddings alike and that is why I want to share these images with you-

I LOVE...LOVE...this photograph above because it is very simple and sweet....this totally reminds me of a Hallmark card. Jenny is as sweet as she looks in person.

I adore her and her gentle spirit. She got ready for her wedding at her house and her maid of honor had "played" wedding since they were kids...that is why this photograph is so special to me because I captured her happiness about her entire day!!!

The best part is CHECK OUT HER CAT...ha this just made me smile..after this shot the cat took off :)

It is really 2009 and I know it is going to be a wonderful year :)

The wedding we had at club 1000 on New Year's eve was awesome!! Eddie (my hubby) shot with me and we had a blast getting gorgeous photographs of Maggie and Rich!

Maggie and I totally bonded and she told me she loved me and I told her I loved her too (You would have had to have been there to "get" the moment...ha)

Eddie and I didn't end our night until about 2am!

I have to say and give a BIG thank you to my hubby...the guy fixes me breakfast every weekend-(even when he has a wedding) and brings it to me in bed--no kidding...He has gone above and beyond being my dream guy by the pampering :)

He has been doing that for about 2 years, after 18 years of marriage...I just smile and say thanks baby- your the best!

Rich..actually asked Eddie what was our secret to a great marriage was (I would have told him it is because he married a Gemini...smiles) and he told him separate checking accounts....I think that's funny because I don't care if he buys what he wants and vice verse...life is just too short to get hung up on little things :)

Bottom line..have fun with your mate...keep it fresh & fun and ALWAYS try new things!!!!

Is everyone still in Holiday mode? I know I am :)
We want to wish everyone a wonderful.. blessed.. new year.

I have really enjoyed this Christmas..spending time with my family has been so precious!
I totally love being a Mom and I think I have the coolest kids, they are allot of fun to be around.
Joey keeps you laughing and there is NEVER a dull moment with that boy! He is 17 now and top at his game in debate in Liberty. He has been coming in 1st in " policy debate" out of 50 teams and we have trophy's everywhere :)

Brooke is 14 and totally beautiful..she actually made a bridal magazine this Spring! She is into peace and love clothes...never moves without her cell..loves shoes and shopping ;) and she just got back from a 2 day youth group trip to Chicago.

We went to the movies...updated my daughters room..I fixed their favorite foods and we all cuddled on the couch and watched Joeys favorite shows on TV..

We should all be thankful for our families and our wonderful friends...God is so good to us!!!

You guys are amazing! We have just about worn out our DVD slidshow since we met with you a couple of weeks ago. We are having so much fun showing it to our family and friends. Our pictures are absolutely perfect. We might love our wedding photos as much as we love each other! ;) We just keep looking through them and we aren't even able to pick a favorite because so many of them are so unbelievable. You not only captured the events of the day, but the actual love and emotions throughout the day. It's like we can "feel" our day again when we look at the pictures. You guys are very talented! I quite smoking!!!

Okay I can finally say I quite smoking and what a stupid habit that was for me!!!

I started over a year ago and had a heck of a time stopping..it did not help that most of my
assistants smoked too...so I can say now that I am smoke free and I feel 100 percent better!!
I am going to start spin classes with Jackie ..my Friend and Bride that is on gallery one..she looks awesome :) my first class starts at 5 am in the morning.

My husband laughed when I told him my first class was at 5am...ha ..ha..I will surprise him again no doubt.

A huge thanks to Ann and Doug again...they hung out at my place the last 2 Sundays and Eddie (my hubby) grilled AWESOME hamburgers and..we played the wi fit (love that game)

We are going skiing together soon :)I have to brag on Ann and Doug they were in people magazine recently and here is the article!!!

Anyhow we have some AWESOME -did I say fabulous too?- wedding images coming to you in the next few weeks...I am alittle behind and Have been shooting almost everyday of the week and weekends too- then editing and editing and the hubby brings me dinner at my desk :)

I did get to meet Maria Shivers brother last week and the president of the Red Cross and just some amazing people in our world that are behind the scenes when we have natural disasters...

I just wanted to share with everyone that you have got to go see the movie "Fireproof"
Tonight was our "date night" we totally have to protect time together with 2 teenagers on the go and a business that we love and it is so easy for me to get consumed by my art and forget my first passion - my husband. I say that to say this..../marriage is hard work and so many things can sidetrack us.

BUT- God is good and does
protect our marriages and YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE FIREPROOF!!!
The movie hits home in so many ways and it is so true....

As I write this my hubby followed me down to the office ( I was just going to return a call I promised a Bride that I would) and he brought his guitar in and is singing to me (my favorite song "Guns and Roses - 'patience")

So..I am out of this office but, if you do get the chance to see Fireproof DO IT and don't forget to take tissue :)

Let's all take really good care of our marriages :)

I just wanted to let you both know how much fun we had with you. You both are seriously amazing photographers. The way you shoot and just the way that you both are. We had such a great day with you both. Eddie was bunches of fun and help at our reception. Thank you so much Eddie for helping me move things along smoothly at the reception. I was so worried about everything that night, but you really helped me in ways of what to do next and even help on bustling my dress :) Terri we missed you bunches though we wish you could have been there too but understand you were needed elsewhere also :) And also i wanted to say how beautiful your daughter is and she was very sweet at the reception i heard from lots of people how well mannered they thought she was and how they thought it was so sweet that she came along to help her dad :) Thank you so much Terri for staying up late that night to send me some pictures for my slide show, when i know you had a head ache from a long days work. You are incredible. You cant believe how many people loved the slide show and they thought that the pictures you took were just amazingly beautiful. I'm so excited to see the rest of them, I just know that they will be so great, but i will be patient because I totally understand the time and effort each individual picture takes :) And Terri I would love to shadow you someday when my ankles have a little more strength, you guys are seriously the best of the best :) we will never forget our big, you guys will always be a great memory that we have to look back on and how much we really enjoyed you guys being apart of our special day :) I cant tell you how privileged I am to say that we had you all as our photographers :) We cant thank you both enough for everything.

I had the pleasure of seeing these two again after photographing Tommy's Sisters wedding- Samantha Mangino and David Hardy a couple of years ago - I was so excited when Danielle and Tommy called and said they wanted me to shoot their wedding.. :)

I have seen allot of Brides and this girl is so, so, so, sweet...I can't say enough good things about Tommy too - he is a wonderful guy!!!

When selecting the perfect photographer for our wedding in California, we compared portfolios of photographers in San Francisco to Los Angeles. It felt like fate when we discovered a local photographer whose portfolio blew those guys all out of the water. Obviously we knew Teri took gorgeous pictures, but that was not the real reason we booked her. Sure, she is talented and reasonably priced, but even more important to the success of our destination wedding, was Teri’s absolutely addicting personality and charming character. In Napa Valley, Emily and Rollie put my husband and I up in a WONDERFUL Inn..that served us breakfast at our door everymorning with roomservice that knocked on our door everynight to ask if we would like fresh ice cubes :)
Plush robes in our room...was such a nice touch.
Then..I am off to shoot on locations and they whip out a present for us... a real cool picnic wine and cheese tote!!
They really touched my heart and there is nothing I wouldn't do for them!!!
